A Small Step, A Real Intention

A Small Step, A Real Intention

At Got Close, we’ve always cared about how things feel.
Not just visually, but in the way they’re made, the way they exist, and the kind of impact they leave behind.

What started as a passion for design slowly turned into something more. We began asking ourselves a simple question:

If we’re creating every day, what are we giving back?

So we decided to take a step.

We joined Greenspark

We’re now part of Greenspark, a platform that helps brands turn everyday actions into real environmental impact.

Through Greenspark, every order placed with us now contributes to projects that actively support the planet in a simple, transparent way.

With every order placed on Got Close, we now:

  • Offset 5kg CO2
  • Rescue 5 plastic bottles

It’s a small action, but repeated over time, it creates something meaningful.

What we love most is that it doesn’t feel distant or complicated.
It’s built into the small, everyday moments.

So far, the GreenSpark community has already achieved:

  • 5.2 million trees planted
  • 13.6 million plastic bottles rescued
  • 42.1 million kg of CO2 offset
  • 109,013 kelp planted
  • 44,589 days of water supplies
  • 364,440 bees protected

The projects we’re supporting

Through Greenspark, we’re currently supporting two projects that felt especially close to us.

The 1st Project is Plastic Bank

This project helps stop plastic before it ever reaches the ocean. By building recycling systems in coastal communities, plastic is collected, sorted, and given real value. Instead of being waste, it becomes a source of income, helping thousands of people support their everyday lives.

So far, 62,930 collectors have gathered 9.4 billion bottles since 2013. It’s not just about cleaning plastic, it’s about creating opportunity, dignity, and a better cycle.

The 2nd Project is Improved Cook Stoves in Malawi

This project replaces traditional open-fire cooking with safer, energy-efficient cookstoves in Malawi.

Each stove uses less wood, reduces harmful smoke, and cuts around 2.5 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.

It also saves families hours every week that would otherwise be spent collecting firewood.

So far, over 40,000 stoves have been introduced benefiting around 200,000 people.

It’s a small change in everyday life that creates a huge impact for health, forests, and the future.

Why this matters to us

We’re still a small business, and we know this doesn’t fix everything.

But it felt important to start somewhere, and this felt like a good place to begin. Joining Greenspark made sense for us because it let us take something we already do, every order, every package, every day to day part of the brand, and connect it to something useful. Nothing dramatic. Just one step in a better direction.

Moving forward

This is just the beginning for us. We’re still learning, still figuring things out, and still looking at how we can do better over time. But we’re happy to be taking this step, and even happier to do it with the people who support our brand.

Every order counts. Every small action adds up.

And that’s something we really wanted to be part of.
